| What is your basic process? | We convert wild algae which occurs naturally in effluent management systems to biofuel. We demonstrated proof of concept in December 2006 with a normal diesel engine Landrover being driven by New Zealand’s Minister of Climate Change. The engine ran on a B5 blend (5% biodiesel mixed with petroleum diesel) created using biodiesel derived from algae harvested from effluent management system ponds. | Are you at a point yet where we can license your technology into our country? | We are currently developing a more advanced conversion technology from the one we used in our proof of concept. We anticipate that we wil require six months or more to reach a working platform upon which to build a commercial operating prototype. At that point we will be looking to license the technology . |
| When do you expect the economic assumptions will be validated? | In the next 12 to 18 months. |
| Can Aquaflow Bionomic Corporation supply algae oil? | No, we're sorry, but we are not expecting to supply algae oil directly into the market as an alternative feedstock to other vegetable based oils. |
| Can Aquaflow Bionomic Corporatiion supply commercial samples of any bio-fuels? | We are not currently providing general commercial samples, but if you use the "contact us" facility to send us a message we can keep your details and get back to you when we have consolidated our operation. |
| Can Aquaflow provide any solutions for solving problems with effluent ponds or nutrient run-off? | The algae we use is wild algae and we are currently harvesting it from effluent ponds. Problems with effluent ponds and nutrient run-off or other waters needing bioremediation are of interest to us but we are not engaging in these projects until our fuels conversion is consolidated. However, if you would like to forward your details to us we can keep them and contact you when we are ready to license out the technology. |
| I've heard that Aquaflow is involved with Boeing in jet-fuel trials. Is that true? | Yes, we understand that Boeing is looking at a number of possible non-fossil sources for jet-fuel and it has been working with Aquaflow in this regards. |
